The Horace Mann Educators Foundation is an independent charitable organization established
by Horace Mann Educators Corporation to recognize the dedication of educators in helping
each student reach their full potential.
The Foundation is committed to supporting educators and students by providing resources for
critical needs identified by educators, schools and districts addressing challenges that impact
student success. Additionally, the Foundation honors the dedication of Horace Mann Service
Corporation employees by supporting causes important to them and their communities.
Our Impact in 2024
In 2024, the Foundation awarded nearly $480,000 to support educators, employees,
communities and individuals in need, including:
$241,000 in educator-focused grants for essential classroom supplies, care closets, food
security initiatives, attendance programs and efforts that recognize educator excellence.
$175,000 to strengthen communities through mentorship programs, workplace
development for veterans and individuals with disabilities, mental health support and
training opportunities for minorities pursuing careers in insurance. HMEF also supported
organizations addressing basic needs and educational opportunities.
$43,800 to employee giving programs, including a match program to amplify the impact of causes important to Horace Mann employees.
$20,000 for disaster relief efforts and support for organizations that serve communities in
times of crisis.
