April 1, 2026
As the education landscape continues to evolve amid economic pressures, shifting expectations and growing demands, educators remain focused on what matters most: their students. At Horace Mann, we are equally committed to advancing our mission to help educators succeed in and out of the classroom through responsible business practices.
In 2025, we brought this mission to life in meaningful ways, from offering educator discounts to wellness services and supporting classroom supply funding through DonorsChoose, to expanding partnerships with organizations like Crayola that foster collaboration, communication and creativity in schools.
Highlights of our efforts in 2025 include:
- Enhancing how we serve educators: We expanded our offerings to better support educators’ overall well-being, addressing their financial, physical and emotional needs.
- Investing in our people: Employee engagement increased, with 85% of employees reporting a clear connection to our strategy, helping ensure educators receive the service and guidance they expect and deserve.
- Driving community impact: Through the Horace Mann Educators Foundation, we contributed more than $500,000 to support student well-being, classroom resources and basic needs, helping remove barriers to learning.
- Supporting environmental sustainability: We continued to improve energy efficiency, reduce waste and advance progress toward our long-term environmental goals, while actively managing climate-related risks across our business.
Our corporate social responsibility efforts are also embedded in our asset management and investment strategy. At the end of 2025, we held $1.4 billion in responsible investments, or about 20% of the total portfolio. These investments demonstrate our commitment to generating long-term, sustainable returns while supporting positive societal and environmental outcomes.
Guided by our mission and our commitment to responsible business practices, we will continue building a more sustainable future for educators, students and the communities we serve.
Sincerely,
